The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in the college financial aid process. This form must be completed in order to be considered for any federal or state financial aid.
After filing the FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) that summarizes the information submitted on the FAFSA and reveals your Expected Financial Contribution (EFC). The EFC is the amount the government has determined you and your family should be able to spend for college education costs and determines your eligibility for financial aid.
For more information on the FAFSA including deadlines and online applications, visit the FAFSA Website.Back to Blogs
